Terms of Use
Last updated 16 August 2026 · Effective 16 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Sadhana mobile application
(com.zenski.japa), published by Zenski
(“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you
do not, please do not use the app.
1. The licence you have
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Sadhana on devices you own or control, for your own spiritual practice, in accordance with these terms and with the rules of the app store you installed it from.
2. What you may not do
- Copy, sell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- Circumvent the free-tier limits, the purchase verification, or the integrity checks that protect the service.
- Use the app to harass anyone, or to send unlawful, abusive or infringing content into a group.
- Attack, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the backend, or to another person’s account or data.
3. Accounts
An account is optional. Every part of the practice works without one. If you choose to sign in, you do so with Google or Apple; you are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for activity that takes place under it. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to abuse the service or another person.
4. Your content is yours
The mantras you write, your Sankalpa intentions, your notes, your profile names and your practice records remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and no licence to use them, other than the strictly technical permission needed to store and sync them at your request, and — where you post to a group — to show them to that group’s members.
You are responsible for the content you create, and for having the right to use anything you add to the app.
5. Our content
The app’s software, design, artwork, text and the curation of its bundled mantra library are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright. The traditional mantras and scriptural material themselves are part of a shared heritage and are not claimed as our property; the presentation, translation, transliteration and arrangement of them within the app are.
Sadhana is a tool for personal practice. It is not a religious authority, and nothing in it should be taken as instruction on how a tradition must be observed. Where the app shows Panchang or festival information, it is a calculated convenience and may differ from the reckoning your own tradition or local calendar uses.
6. Premium subscriptions and purchases
- Sold by the stores, not by us. Premium is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices, currency, taxes and billing are theirs, and shown to you before you buy.
- Auto-renewal. A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings — not in Sadhana, which cannot do it for you.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. We cannot issue one on their behalf.
- No consumables. Sadhana does not and will not sell counts, credits or repetitions. You cannot buy progress.
- Free trials, where offered, convert to a paid period unless cancelled before the trial ends.
What ending a subscription does — and does not — do
Nothing you have already recorded is ever hidden, archived or destroyed by a change of tier. If your subscription lapses, you keep every sitting, Sankalpa, routine and custom mantra you already have; free-tier limits bound only what is new. Cloud sync and backup stop, and Premium appearance options revert to a free one without rewriting your stored preference.
7. Advertising
The free tier is funded by adverts, shown only on browsing screens and never during practice. Adverts are non-personalised. We are not responsible for the content of an advert or for anything on a site it leads to.
8. Privacy
Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Backups are your responsibility too
The copy of your practice on your device is the real one. Cloud sync and backup are a convenience, not a guarantee: devices are lost, storage fails, and no service is perfect. Please keep your own export if your records matter to you — the app can produce one at any time.
10. Availability and changes
The app is offered as it is, and the online parts of it — sign-in, sync, groups, notifications — depend on services we do not operate and may be unavailable or discontinued. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, we will tell you before it takes effect.
11. Not medical or professional advice
Sadhana supports a personal spiritual practice. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological or professional advice. If you are unwell or in distress, please speak to a qualified professional.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
14. Ending this agreement
You may stop using Sadhana at any time by uninstalling it, and you may delete your account and cloud data from within the app. We may terminate this licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections 4, 5, 12, 13 and 16 survive termination.
15. Apple-specific terms
Where you obtained the app from the App Store: this agreement is between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, regulatory non-compliance or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of the Republic of Korea have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings in its courts.
17. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and a material change will be signalled in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
